The Leeds International Piano Competition

We are thrilled to confirm Alim Beisembayev received First Prize, The Waterman Gold Medal and Ariel Lanyi received Third Prize,  The Roslyn Lyons Bronze Medal in the Leeds International Piano Competition.

Alim was a beneficiary of a Countess of Munster Musical Trust Award in 2020/2021, and Ariel received a Countess of Munster Musical Trust Star Award in 2019.  Ariel is also a current artist on our Recital Scheme 2022.

The Leeds International Piano Competition has launched the careers of some of the greatest pianists of our time.  The first round of competition is in Berlin, Singapore and New York.  Those candidates who are successful then compete in Leeds through individual and collaborative rounds, featuring solo work, chamber music performances and a concerto finale with the world-renowned Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition, HD global streaming of the competition with medici.tv reaches audiences of over 1 million in some 190 countries.
