Miss Louise Williams

Louise Williams was a scholar at the Royal Academy of Music as a violinist. As a beneficiary of the Countess of Munster Musical Trust, she studied at the Juilliard School, was on the Trust’s Recital Scheme, and was sponsored for a recital at the Wigmore Hall and a concerto at the Southbank with the English Chamber Orchestra. Louise was a founder member of the Endellion Quartet as a violinist, and a member of the Chilingirian Quartet, Raphael Ensemble and Frith Piano Quartet as violist. She played as a guest with many ensembles including the Takács Quartet, Lindsays and Nash Ensemble, played as guest principal viola with many UK orchestras, was a regular visitor to IMS Prussia Cove and was an invited member of András Schiff’s orchestra Cappella Andrea Barca.

In the 1980’s, she spent several years away from music studying organic horticulture in England and meditation in India, and in 2018 retired from playing altogether. Having since taken a history degree, in the long term she is walking the coastline of Britain.

As well as the Munster Trust, Louise is a trustee of the Harrison Frank Family Foundation and the music festival Arcadia.
