MBF MUSIC EDUCATION AWARDS
Professor Charles Leggett Trust - awards of up to £5,000 each for most outstanding brass and woodwind players heard at MBF Music Education Awards. Open to postgraduate students under age 25, of any nationality normally resident in UK Closing date Feb.

PHILHARMONIA ORCHESTRA
Martin Musical Scholarship Fund – Assists exceptional musical talent with specialist and advanced study and helps bridge gap between study and professional status. Awards for tuition fees and/or maintenance while studying in UK/Europe. Preference given to UK citizens under age 25. Much younger students of outstanding ability considered, to meet fees or travel expenses in attending junior conservatoires. Exclusions: organists, singers, conductors, composers, academic students, piano accompanists and jazz musicians. Closing date 1st Dec. Entry fee.
June Allison Award – £500 (single award) for outstanding woodwind performer.

ALBERT COOPER COMPETITION
Competition for flautists attending Stratford-on-Avon International Flute Festival. Prize of engraved, silver headjoint, winner also returns to flute course following year to give prizewinner’s concert. No entry fee.

ISLE OF WIGHT INTERNATIONAL OBOE COMPETITION
Biennial, open to any nationality under age 30, who has not won an international oboe competition. Prizes: 1st = £1,000 + London debut recital; 2nd = £800; 3rd = £550; 4th = £250. Applicants should send cassette including performances of 2 set works and a work of own choice. Closing date 1st Dec. Entry fee.
