ACE/AHRB ARTS & SCIENCE RESEARCH FELLOWHSHIPS
New jointly funded Research Fellowships programme. Focus of this initiative iwll be to suppport collaborative work between artists - working within any area of the creative and performing arts (visual arts, music and performing arts, creative writing). Fellowship must be based within a Higher Education Institution (HEI) directly funded by the Higher Education Funding Council of England (HRFCE). WILLIAM MATHIAS COMPOSITION PRIZE
The William Mathias Composition Prize was established in 2002 in honour of one of Wales’ most distinguished composers, with the aim of promoting, to the highest standard the work of Wales’ living composers, by giving them a performance at one of Wales’ most exciting music festivals.The Prize is administered on behalf of the Bangor New Music Festival by Cyfansoddwyr Cymru/Composers of Wales.

Biennial prize (next closing date 5th January 2007). The Prize will be awarded for a chamber piece for Clarinet Bb, Violin, Cello and Piano, between 5 and 8 minutes in length.Up to four selected pieces will be played at a workshop in the Powis Hall, University of Wales, Bangor, at 2 pm on Saturday 17th March 2007. The winning piece will be played at a concert in the same venue at 8pm, by Ensemble Cymru, when the Prize will be presented.

The Prize consists of a cheque for £250, a professional performance by Ensemble Cymru during the Bangor New Music Festival, and a recording (for personal use only).
