Title: INFORMATION FOR REFEREES
The Trust’s main aim is to help outstanding young musicians, who have a realistic chance of establishing a professional performance career, towards the cost of their advanced studies, at home or abroad.
The Trustees would be grateful if you would supply a reference in support of this young musician’s application.
Please address the questions explicitly asked. Failure to do so will result in the application being rejected. The closing date for receipt of references is 14th February.

If you would prefer to fax +44 (0)1428 685064, email (references@munstertrust.org.uk), or post (The Countess of Munster Musical Trust, Wormley Hill, Godalming, Surrey GU8 5SG) your reference, please state the name of the student, the discipline and we would ask to address the following questions. Failure to address these questions will result in the application being rejected.
  1. 1. How long have you known the applicant and, if you are the teacher, how long have you taught the applicant?
  2. 2. In what ways has the candidate developed during the present course of study?
  3. 3. Do you support the project for which funding is sought and in what ways would you expect the applicant to benefit from further training?
  4. 4. Other comments regarding ability, potential, character, commitment and ambition. The Trustees deem quality of performance the highest priority and would be grateful if you would concentrate your comments on this angle. What level do you estimate the candidate will reach in the profession?
The Trustees are most grateful for the time and effort that referees put into writing references and we will do everything we can to make the process as simple as possible.
